If you are concerned about training your dog, this is the place to look for information on dog issues and to find links to the books and products that will help you with your dog training needs.  I've done the research on the products so you can save the time.  (I'm the kind of guy that takes a month to buy a TV because I want to check out everything that is available and get a good deal without breaking the bank.  Here you can use my quirkiness to your advantage. Dog Obedience Training  -  After everyone gets through the dog potty training issue, then comes the dog obedience issue.  There are lots of products that you see advertised on the internet for dog obedience training also.  The Dog Obedience Training page will get you started with the basic information you need on this topic.  Then, the Dog Obedience Training Book Reviews   page and Expanded Reviews pages can help you understand what to expect in each of the major selling books.  Like with the potty Training Book Reviews  , on this site you get none of those one sentence reviews that you see on other sites.  Here you get the full story. 

I have purchased the various dog potty training programs and dog obedience training programs.   So I can give you insight as to what to expect if you buy one of them.  It can be hard to make a decision on a dog training program because you just really don't know what you will get until after you buy it.  This site can help you decide, since I have already checked them out.  I am not a dog trainer myself, so I am in a position like you - I need to read the information to learn how to do it.  I'll tell you about what I have read and what I think of it.  Some is really great stuff, others are not so hot.  You won't have to worry about what you really get with your purchase, because you can learn what you'll get right here.   

Other Dog Training Products  -  Some products you need to have right away after you get your dog such as, a leash and dog collar, and proper "accident" cleaning supplies.  Others are very helpful in having a successful potty training experience, such as, a crate and chew toy.  I will soon be adding information on these products to this site also. 

The Book Reviews

Two Step Review - No Sales Pitch - In the review pages I start with brief summaries of the training books.  If a book needs more comment, I add a link to an "Expanded Book Review."  I do the "two step" review so you can decide how much you want to read on any book.  When you get to the author's website you will find that they overwhelm you with their sales pitch, but you may not want to read the full sales pitch.  Every author thinks that their book is the best on the market.  I'll tell you what I think after reading all of them.  My brief reviews and expanded book reviews are still much shorter than the author's websites.  Since I have read the books myself, I can give you information on how it compares to the others without giving you the sales pitch. 

The Guide Dog

I made this website so that I could just be involved with dogs.  You see, I am a frustrated dog lover.  I love dogs and grew up with a dog, (my first dog was King, a St Bernard; then Taffy, a Fox Terrier mutt; then Charlie, an SPCA rescue mutt).  and I still want to have my own dog, but the love of my life, and my wife (they are the same person) is allergic to dogs.  So, no dogs in this house!  After that, the best I can do is play with the neighbor's dog and help others with their dog product purchases. 

This site is all about dog training and dog training products.  I'll do all the work for you in checking out the dog training products, so you can concentrate on playing with, taking care of, and loving your dogs.

p.s. Just to simplify things, I refer to all dogs as females.  Using the "he/she" combination everywhere is just annoying to everyone.  Please don't be offended if your dog is a male.
